Learning Materials - Chiyembekezo with the Ziya Andrew Tsamwa of THOYODO

April 2014 : Learning Materials – Chiyembekezo with the Ziya Andrew Tsamwa of THOYODO

In January 2014, I sent out an appeal to for help (Let Us Organize Against Poverty) when a very intelligent young man named Chiyembekezo from Makupete Village in Thondwe Zomba, Malawi was selected to study at a secondary school in Lilongwe but his parents could not afford to raise the MK60,000 (~US$140) per semester that is required for him to attend school. On behalf of Chiyembekezo, his family and our Community-based Organization, Thondwe Youth Skills Organization (THOYODO), I would like to thank all who responded to the appeal with funds and/or learning materials for Chiyembekezo. All the financial contributions were deposited into the THOYODO Scholarship Fund for Chiyembekezo and THOYODO paid Likuni Secondary School directly. Chiyembekezo has completed his first semester and is going into his second one. He is still excited about attaining his dream of being a Writer.

Chiyembekezo still needs help as he proceeds. I hereby call upon those who would like to make sure that Chiyembekezo does not drop out to contact me so that together we can see him through to his dream; thereby Organize Against Poverty.

THOYODO continues to receive a lot of calls for help requests and we have done what we can to help several young people from families around our area to progress with their education. However, our resources and sources of support are limited. Therefore, many are still waiting to hear from our organization.

We would like to call upon our friends, people from Thondwe and friends of THOYODO to share whatever little you can so that we should not leave any one of our young ones behind. Any small contribution will make a difference in a life or a family; and our community will appreciate your support.

We look forward to hearing from you. We will send you banking details upon request if you would like to contribute to our initiatives this time and/or in future.

Please pass this along, including the contact email to anyone whom you think can support us.

Open your hearts. Help us organize against poverty.

Open your hearts. Help us organize against poverty.
